Maury Mourning

Director, Founder

Maury Mourning is an author, speaker, life coach, and survivor advocate. She obtained her Business Administration and Human Services degree from Belhaven University. 

Her passion is enhancing the overall well-being of her clients holistically: mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Committed to offering tools, techniques, and resources, Maury supports women, men, and families in their journey to recover, rebuild, and restore their lives, ultimately helping them become ‘free to fly’. She continually invests in her personal and professional growth to serve others on their path to healing and empowerment. Most importantly by using her voice and empowering victims and society to break the silence against domestic violence, she believes that this can increase a survivor’s chance of having access to recovery and living a whole and healthy life.

​She has over 20+ years as a businesswoman, entrepreneur, mentor, and spiritual leader. Maury continues to study and absorb knowledge in the field of social advocacy for those that have been directly and indirectly affected by DV and IPV.  Maury is a mom first and has two beautiful children.

Omar A. Sesay

Board Member

Omar A. Sesay is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor. He completed his undergraduate at the University of Central Arkansas and his Master’s at Prairie View A & M University. He is the Owner of Top-Level Counseling Center and the Team Behavioral Health Clinician for The Houston Texans Football Team.

Mr. Sesay is one of the most prominent practitioners in the Houston community with over 20 years of experience in mental health, with the belief in the potential to change and grow. He believes in partnering with persons who serve to meet their goals and has spent many years working with adults, adolescents, and children. As a practitioner, Mr. Sesay believes in using effective and established treatment methods. Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Solution Focused, and Acceptance & Commitment (ACT) forms of therapy are utilized in his practice.

​In addition to being a prominent trauma-focused practitioner, Mr. Sesay also works as the Program Director for the Projects for Assistants in Transition from Homelessness (PATH), Homeless Outreach Team (HOT), and provides administrative oversight for the Substance Use Disorder Outreach Program (SUDOP) with the Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD.

Vocational and Life Skills Trainer, Disability Advocate, and Small-Business Strategist are a few of the titles held by Niles, MI native KC Johnson.  She has over 15 years of experience assisting women and youth in the transformation process.   Whether she is using her skills to help women overcome their barriers or skill up so they can level up in the workforce or in business one thing is certain. She firmly believes that any transformation starts from within and is passionate about seeing women and youth discover their true selves.  She is the Founder and Primary Consultant with Kingdom Business ETC Consulting, Founder and Executive Director of WeECHO Youth Services, Inc. mother, wife, and servant of Yah.  She believes in living a life of purpose on purpose and using her gifts to unlock the gifts in others.  She stands on the front line of her community leading by example and effecting positive change in the lives she touches.

Mari Wingate

Director Advisory

Mari Wingate serves as Executive Director of LivingHelp Center, a crisis pregnancy center in Southern California. She is the online magazine editor and vice-president for the board at International Life Services and promotes Judeo-Christian values applied to family life, sexuality, and bio-ethical issues  Mari received her master’s degree in human development and mediation and bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations from the University of Missouri and earned her minister’s license at the Leadership Bible Institute in Whittier, California. A mentor and spiritual mother to many, Mari encourages and empowers others based on their identity in Christ. Impassioned by prayer, she is trained and certified in healing and deliverance and helping others reach emotional and spiritual freedom. She is the victorious and set-free mother of 2 sons and 1 daughter and resides in Long Beach, California.

Ambe Regina

Advisory

Ambe Regina The founder and CEO of Black Sparkling Diamonds, has over a decade of experience working with domestic violence survivors. Her experience ranges from legal advocate, and program manager to assistant director. Throughout her seventeen-year professional career, she attributes her success to having experience, therefore having firsthand knowledge of being a survivor. This has allowed her to have successful outcomes as it relates to working with domestic violence survivors. Ambe was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She completed her BA degree in Criminal Justice. Upon relocating to California, she attended UCLA where she obtained her Paralegal Certificate. She also has her 72-hour training certificate in domestic violence and sexual violence. Ambe has a plethora of professional and lived expertise experience in the domestic violence field.

Solivian Dismuke

Secretary

Solivian Dismuke began her Professional Nursing career in 1998 and received her Master’s in Nursing Leadership in 2016. She finds mentoring and uplifting others to be rewarding. Currently, she serves as a member of the Peoria Public Schools Foundation Board. The Board is responsible for improving the quality of education within Peoria Public Schools and ensuring the best opportunities for the students they serve.

​She has lent her services to the Peoria Center for Abused Women’s Center. As a survivor of intimate partner violence, she realizes that mental abuse can be as toxic as physical abuse.

​Success is defined differently for everyone, and we all embody it. B Free 2 Fly embodies the same principles afforded to me, cultivating, encouraging, mentoring, and embracing service to others. She currently resides in Peoria, IL, and has three exceptional children, Dana, Mariah, and Mikayla.

Giselle Interiano

Treasurer

Giselle Interiano was born and raised in the land of eternal spring, Guatemala. She moved to Los Angeles to go to college and graduated with a BS in International Business from CSULB. Currently, she works as an Operations Manager for an Australian company and handles the company’s US business affairs.

She is a single mother of two wonderful boys. Giselle is a survivor of domestic violence and has been on a healing journey for several years, which has led her to get involved in the world of therapy, finding somatic and collective therapy to be the most helpful. Though healing is not a linear path, she continues to learn and adapt every day. Giselle and her boys currently split their time between Los Angeles, CA and Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Brandon Russell is an experienced talent acquisition specialist with over 10 years of experience sourcing and recruiting top talent. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Robert Morris University and is a Certified Scrum Master.

Brandon is passionate about helping people and building inclusive teams. He excels at full-cycle recruiting, talent pipeline development, networking, and leveraging data to refine hiring strategies. Over the course of his career, Brandon has directly facilitated the hiring of over 400 professionals in the retail, tech, and finance sectors.

Outside of work, Brandon enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and pursuing his interests in real estate and business operations. He is dedicated to empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds and building high-performing yet compassionate teams. Brandon leverages his recruitment expertise to make meaningful connections and open doors for skilled professionals.

Brandon is a Senior Technical Recruiter at Guidehouse with over 10 years of talent acquisition experience.
